Prefect Bill Wagstaff, Secretary/Treasurer Teresa Wagstaff and Member at Large Glenn Mitchell attended the Upstate Research Rocketry Festival at Potter, NY from June 9 – 11. The weather was fairly good, with only a limited amount of haze remaining after the smoke from Canadian forest fires the previous week. A certain amount of haze can be seen in the photo above. The group’s flights were entirely successful, boding well for their planned pilgrimage to Wisconsin’s Richard Bong State Recreational Area for LDRS 41 in a few weeks.
Our annual AGM will be at the Stittsville Legion from Noon to 18:00 on October 14, 2017.
It has been a long time since we posted in this section. Please rest assure that our club is active. The best way to see what we are up to is to have a look at our Yahoo discussion group or our Facebook group: Ottawa Rocketry Group
We keep our launch Calendar up to date. Normally we post our calendar for the year in January.

Since it’s Mother’s Day, we are canceling the launch for May 10th. Get your rockets ready for the next launch on May 24th.
A great day for a launch! We had warm weather and light winds for the morning, at least. The grass is low and recovery was easy this time of year. Photos:
Dario recoded this on board his LOC Iris:
Daniel provided the following video of Dario’s launch:
Looks like a nice day. Bring boots since I suspect it will be muddy and we might even need sunscreen this afternoon!
Details of the launches are here: https://www.ottawa-rocketry.org/launches/
See you at parking lot P1 at 9:50 AM.
Today was a nice spring day. Although it started out cold we had bright sun and light winds. We had a good turn out with the usual hardy Winter launchers present.
A few interesting events, as with every launch, Greg P almost lost his postage stamp rocket in a tree, John C has a nice CATO which we caught on camera, and Bill G has a nice new zipper on his LOC IV.
Check out the picture album. Here’s video of just a few launches:
